WHO We Are…

Founded in 1970 by current Head Coach Virginia "Ginny" Jasontek, the Synchrogators are currently the highest ranked, nationally competitive synchronized swim team in Ohio. Affiliated with the United States Synchronized Swimming Association and sponsored by the Gamble-Nippert and ME Lyons YMCA's, the team has grown to become a premier swimming program that offers a long list of medals and awards for all age groups. Our coaching staff is the foundation of our competitive success as a team.

The team is fortunate to have an outstanding coaching staff of ten dedicated leaders and educators who believe in both the personal and physical development of their athletes. These special coaches have sent over 60 athletes into the ranks of collegiate competition. Head Coach Ginny Jasontek is an official and judge with FINA, the international organization for Olympic Synchronized Swimming, a member of the Synchronized Swimming Hall of Fame and the 1997-1998 Developmental Coach of the Year. Together our coaches have over 100 years of synchro experience both swimming and coaching. Through the dedication of the coaches and parents, the Synchrogators have found success in and out of the pool by fostering a fun, disciplined, and caring environment.

WHAT WE DO…

Synchronized Swimming has tremendous benefits for young girls and adults-- from keeping fit to learning teamwork in an incredibly rewarding environment. Led by the coaches, the sport promotes the health and growth of the swimmers through participation in team oriented training and competition. The swimmers are encouraged to attain their highest level of achievement, using individual and team potential as a guideline. Each team member is expected to learn and practice synchro swim techniques, teamwork, responsibility, and sportsmanship in an environment of dedicated effort and fun.

TEAMWORK

One of the most important aspects of synchronized swimming is that it is a team sport. Each swimmer's success is dependent on his/her teammates. Together, athletes work to enjoy their successes and learn from their disappointments.

SYNCHROGATORS' PARENTS GROUP

Support for all aspects of the swim team comes from the Synchrogators' Parents Group. Among the varied activities of the Parents Group are providing concessions during competitions, arranging social events and parties, fundraisers, and educational activities throughout the season, designing and embellishing swimsuits, arranging publicity and sponsorship, tracking scores and results, and making travel arrangements for the meets.

SHOWS OF CHAMPIONS!!

Each October and May, the team performs for the public to showcase the talents of the girls, draw attention to the sport, and raise funds for team expenses. Open to the public, the Fall/Spring Shows are one of many team fundraisers that help defray the cost of travel and equipment needed for competitions. Year after year, the team has produced state, regional and nationally ranked teams and swimmers, many of whom have continued to swim at the collegiate competitions.

JOIN SYNCHROGATORS!

Whatever your experience, there's a place for you on our team!

The Synchrogators offer various levels of synchro to fit any level of interest or commitment.

Requirements: Open to all skill levels, younger girls need only be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool. Speed swimmers, dancers, gymnasts and other athletes make excellent candidates for the older (12-15) age groups.

If you would like to learn more, come to a practice, or join our team, contact Ginny Jasontek, 513 677-0040, or write to her care of Cincinnati Synchrogators, 1201 Restwood Place, Loveland, Ohio 45140.

Team training begins at the beginner/developmental level. Basic synchro skills such as counting music, sculling, beginning figures, and land drilling are taught at the practices. The ME Lyons and Gamble-Nippert YMCAs sponsor a beginning synchronized swim class. The idea of teamwork is introduced. As the swimmers' skills improve, more complex figures and routines are introduced. Moderate cross training in areas such as Pilates and aerobics are brought into the training. Psychological and nutritional information is provided to the athletes in preparation for national competitions.
